On the same day they made defensive tackle Corey Williams their franchise player, the Green Bay Packers cut long-time tight end Bubba Franks.

Commentary: Franks had played all eight of his NFL seasons with Green Bay, but his role had diminished over the past three seasons -- due in part to injuries. The 30-year-old former first-rounder caught just 18 passes last season and might not have much left.

Fantasy Football Impact: Donald Lee took over as the main tight end in 2007, catching 58 balls for 575 yards and six touchdowns. He will get a little more action in 2008.
