Wide receiver Jerry Porter has exercised a clause to void the last two years of his contract in Oakland, and the Minnesota Vikings, who will be $30 million under the salary cap when free agency begins, might go after his services. He joins receivers Bernard Berrian and recently released Marty Booker at the top of the Vikings' wish list.

"We have a little bit of a window here with some of our veterans," said Vikings personnel chief Rick Spielman at the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday. "We may be more aggressive if we feel there is a blue-chip guy out there that we go out and take a swing at."

Last year, the Vikings failed to acquire Wes Welker and Kevin Curtis. The team went on to finish 28th in passing offense.

Commentary: Spielman said that he could not comment on any players specifically, but the consensus is that the Vikings have been trying to improve their receivers for years, mostly through the draft, but to no avail. Look for them to try to sign Porter.

Fantasy Football Impact: Could we recommend a receiver who has Tarvaris Jackson throwing to him? Probably not.
