When it comes to fantasy football, drafting a quarterback can be quite a tricky art. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are obviously the safest, surest bets at the position; moreover, the likes of Carson Palmer, Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees and Tony Romo can be counted on as early round picks.

Big-time fantasy passers aside, let's take a look at two QBs who might not be on your radar but may be worthy of a late-round selection.

1) Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay

Taking over for Brett Favre (well, allegedly), word from Green Bay is that Rodgers has really risen to the occasion in terms of leadership this offseason. Furthermore, Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones and the newly drafted Jordy Nelson give the fourth-year man a steady stable of receivers who should aid his development. If the Packers can continue the stellar running game they found with Ryan Grant midway through last season, Rodgers should find even more holes in opponents’ defenses to work with.

If you aren’t sold yet, take a look at the best piece of evidence available; namely, Rodgers' statistics. In an important road game against the Dallas Cowboys last season, Rodgers was whirled into the game after Favre went down with an injury. The 2005 first-round pick from Cal answered the bell in admirable fashion, completing 18-of-26 throws for 201 yards and a touchdown. Further, he chipped in 30 rushing yards on just five carries.

The question: Was Rodgers' excellent performance in Dallas a harbinger of good things to come? We'll all find out soon enough, but one thing's for sure: He has plenty of promise.

2) Marc Bulger – St. Louis Rams

Despite the fact that Bulger has been terrific in the past, his injuries in two of the past three seasons hurt his fantasy appeal. So why give Bulger a look this year? Well, he has outstanding weapons. Although Drew Bennett had arguably the worst season of his career last year, some of that could easily be credited to a plethora of reasons (poor QB play and adjusting to a new environment, for instance).

Additionally, any team with as dangerous of a threat at RB as Steven Jackson makes its passer worth a try. With Bulger, you have a guy who has produced in the past and still possesses Torry Holt, the aforementioned Bennett, rookie speedster Donnie Avery, Randy McMichael, Joel Klopfenstein and Brian Leonard to distribute the ball to.

Need more evidence? The last time Bulger returned from an injury (2006), he threw for 4,300 yards and 24 TDs to just eight INTs. That's easily the best year of his career. Lightning just might strike twice.
