New England Patriots reserve running back Kevin Faulk is well-respected in NFL circles because of his knack for making big plays in crucial spots. Sadly, his success in real-life football hasn’t transferred into the realm of fantasy football.

Or has it?

On Sunday, taking the place of Laurence Maroney -- whom the Pats recently placed on season-ending injured reserve -- Faulk had a breakout game against the St. Louis Rams, rushing for 60 yards on 13 carries to go along with four catches for 47 yards and a touchdown. This is Faulk’s second double-digit fantasy performance of the season and could become more of a trend now that he is getting the lion’s share of touches out of the backfield. Just keep an eye out for the return of fellow veterans Sammy Morris and LaMont Jordan, because they could quickly eat away at Faulk’s touches when they get healthy and return to the lineup.
