That fantasy draft “HUH?” Moment

Every fantasy draft has a moment where everything is turned upside down with a pick that makes everyone go "HUH?" In my league it came in the fourth pick of a ten team draft. The guy picking third, who consequently fell into Adrian Peterson thanks to a similar "WOW" moment when the second team went Matt Forte, took Peterson open the door for pick No. 4 to select... LenDale White.

HUH? I immediately asked if we got more points for having fat guys on our team.

Scratching my head, I asked if Chris Johnson got hit by a car or went missing. Subsequently, he passed on Thomas Jones, Larry Johnson, Joseph Addai, Kevin Smith, Marshawn Lynch, and Cedric Benson. I know what your saying this surely was his third running back. NO this was the guy after AP so basically you cancelled out AP. Not to mention the countless "best player available" he could have taken.

My reason for writing this is simple. If you are drafting try not to get cute until after the 7th round. Everyone has the same cheatsheets so follow them until you get some semblance of a good team then go fishing. I myself grabbed Kevin Smith and Steve Slaton last year in the 8th and 10th rounds. I traded Smith for a back up QB on a bye week and rode Slaton to my Championship. So I'm not saying an occasional "stretch" pick is out of the question. Just don't be that guy that makes the pick that makes everyone go "HUH?"
