Here's a recap of the top fantasy football surprise performances from Week 1. They range from mildly surprising to downright unbelievable!

Michael Vick, Atlanta Falcons QB: Vick's 140 passing yards were pedestrian at best, but he avoided costly turnovers and threw for two scores against a very stout Carolina defense. He also added 48 rushing yards. Fantasy owners may want to start considering Vick as a starter instead of a last-ditch reserve.

Frank Gore, San Francisco 49ers RB: Gore was dominant in Week 1, gaining 170 total yards and scoring two short touchdowns in the red zone. If he can stay healthy, Gore could become a blue-chip fantasy back.

Donte Stallworth, Philadelphia Eagles WR: I don't think that anyone could have predicted such a dramatic breakout performance out of the newly acquired Eagles wideout. Stallworth finished the day with 141 receiving yards and a touchdown against the hapless Texans. More importantly, he may have entrenched himself as Donovan McNabb's go-to guy on the outside.

Laveranues Coles, New York Jets WR: Coles was more of an afterthought in most fantasy football circles, but he came up big in Week 1, piling up 153 receiving yards. If Chad Pennington can stay healthy and establish a rhythm with his once and future No. 1 receiver, Coles could end up being a fantasy beast of sorts.

Heath Miller, Pittsburgh Steelers TE: Miller went from having an atrocious night to possibly the greatest fantasy outing of his career. That's what happens when you're on the receiving end of a fluke 87-yard touchdown pass. Fantasy owners were probably thrilled to see the Dolphins botch a challenge attempt that would have likely taken away Miller's touchdown at the end of his catch and run.

Jeff Wilkins, St. Louis Rams K: One man's misfortune is another man's gain. While fantasy owners are peeved over the inability of both Marc Bulger and Steven Jackson to get into the end zone, their lack of TD production paved the way for a 20-point performance out of Wilkins. Only time will tell if this was an anomaly or a preview of things to come.
