The regular season is finally upon us, and fantasy owners should be foaming at the mouth.

By my count, there could be as many as 10 surefire fantasy football starters featured in Thursday's matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints.

The obvious ones are quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Drew Brees, running back Joseph Addai, kicker Adam Vinatieri, and receivers Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, and Marques Colston.

New Orleans running backs Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister would also merit starts, unless you're one of those fantasy owners fortunate enough to have two full-time starters at the position who have equally favorable matchups. In that case, you might want to sit your respective Saints back for Week 1 and go with your full-timers.

Colts tight end Dallas Clark should also get the nod this week, unless your other tight end happens to be a guy by the name of Antonio Gates.

But I'm not telling you anything you didn't know already, so let's get to some of the obscure options.

If your receiving corps is thin, you might want to consider picking up Saints wideout Devery Henderson off the waver wire. He is coming off an injury-riddled season, but he seems to have finally gotten back to form and could benefit from the extra attention that will be given to Colston.

Another player worthy of consideration is Saints kicker Olindo Mare. Although he had a horrid '06 campaign with Miami and seems to be in decline, he will benefit from New Orleans' high-powered offensive attack.

Stay away from Saints tight end Eric Johnson if possible and avoid the defenses at all cost, but you knew that already, didn't you?

Lastly, good luck and may the season bring much joy and victory -- unless you're playing against me!
