With the price tag seemingly going up every week, the Dallas Cowboys decided to get down to brass tacks with quarterback Tony Romo and get him signed now rather than after the season. Thus, on Monday, the two sides agreed to a six-year deal worth $67.5 million, with an $11 million signing bonus and $30 million guaranteed.

Commentary: Romo has proven himself over a 17-game span dating back to last season, when he replaced Drew Bledsoe. In those 17, he has completed 64.2 percent of his passes for 4,887 yards, 35 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. He has the same gunslinger mentality as Brett Favre, with a 12-5 record to match. He deserves to be the Cowboys' long-term starter.

Fantasy Football Impact: Romo has become one of the top three fantasy quarterbacks, thanks to his ability and the weapons he has (Terrell Owens, Jason Witten, et al.). This deal simply means Romo will remain a top QB.
