The NFL fined Washington safety LaRon Landry and Philadelphia defensive tackle LaJuan Ramsey one game check each for unnecessary roughness due to hits using the helmet in separate games Sunday. Each player had been fined previously for unnecessary roughness, which is why these fines were significantly higher. Landry was fined $7,500 for two bad hits against Arizona last month, and he had to pay $16,764 for a helmet-to-helmet hit against Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens this past weekend. Ramsey was hit for $5,000 last month for roughing Jets QB Chad Pennington. This week, Ramsey was fined $21,176 for spearing Dallas running back Julius Jones.

Commentary: That's a lot of cash for two guys who aren't paid that much relative to other NFL players. Odds are they will get the message.

Fantasy Football Impact: None.
