Buffalo rookie Derek Schouman was placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season, a move that hurts the Bills in two areas.

Drafted out of Boise State as a tight end, Schouman has also started at H-back this season. His injury was diagnosed as a high ankle sprain that coach Dick Jauron called "not a big deal in the long run." Because team doctors estimated it would take seven weeks for Schouman's ankle to heal, however, the Bills made the roster move in case they decided to pick up a replacement.

Commentary: This has not been a good season for Buffalo tight ends. Kevin Everett was put out for the season and nearly paralyzed in the opener, and backup Matt Murphy tore a calf muscle in practice earlier this week and is questionable for the Miami game.

Fantasy Football Impact: Not all that much, considering Schouman was more of a blocker than anything else. Robert Royal will continue to start at tight end, with either Murphy or Michael Gaines backing him up; meanwhile, another reserve tight end, UCLA product Ryan Neufeld, will start at fullback.
