The Baltimore Ravens placed Steve McNair on injured reserve, ending the 34-year-old quarterback's season and possibly his tenure with the Ravens. McNair was scheduled to have surgery on his left shoulder Tuesday.

Commentary: McNair has steadily been wearing down over the past few years and has been unreliable for the Ravens. The team probably will sign a QB to step in behind Kyle Boller and Troy Smith.

Fantasy Football Impact: Boller made his third straight start on Monday night and will finish the season as the starter, but he hasn't produced the kind of numbers yet that would make him a fantasy factor. His progress bears watching for next season.
