Broncos elect to cut DT Sam Adams

The Denver Broncos waived defensive tackle Sam Adams and cornerback Jeff Shoate earlier this week. Adams, a 14-year veteran, signed with Denver in June, and Shoate was a fifth-round draft pick in 2004.

Commentary: Adams, 34, had just nine tackles in 11 games and was not making much of an impact for the Broncos, who can't seem to put together a good defensive line these days.
