After Zach Thomas had missed the past five games due to migraine headaches, the Miami Dolphins put the 34-year-old linebacker on injured reserve this week. The seven-time Pro Bowl player said he intends to return in 2008 for his 13th season with Miami. The Dolphins signed linebacker Kelvin Smith off their practice squad to replace him in the LB corps. They also promoted offensive tackle Julius Wilson.

Commentary: Thomas probably should face the music and retire after this season. He has taken quite a beating over the years, and it obvioussly has caught up to him.

Fantasy Football Impact: None.
