Brett Favre was back, which is good for the Green Bay Packers because Aaron Rodgers was not. Favre, the team's starting quarterback, returned to practice Wednesday and was expected to test his bruised right elbow and injured left shoulder Thursday. But Rodgers is expected to miss a week or two with a bad hamstring, which he hurt Tuesday. The Packers signed Craig Nall, a former Favre backup, to step in as the No. 2 this week against Oakland.

Commentary: Favre, who missed most of the Packers' game against Dallas last Thursday, will certainly extend his NFL QB record of consecutive starts to 250, and the money here says he'll do it in style against the Raiders, whom he burned for 399 yards and four touchdowns on "Monday Night Football" a day after his dad died in 2003.

Fantasy Football Impact: Favre has had a resurgent season, and fantasy owners are anxious to see him continue winging the ball around to add to his 22 TD passes and 3,412 yards.
