Denver coach Mike Shanahan was fined $25,000 for announcing that he supported running back Travis Henry's appeal of a positive drug test because Henry had passed a lie-detector test administered by the Broncos. Henry won the appeal earlier this week, but the NFL was unhappy that Shanahan had created his own process for deciding whether his player was guilty or not. Shanahan also had said that he might have released Henry if he had failed the polygraph test.

Commentary: Not unlike New England coach Bill Belichick now, Shanahan has long seemed to consider himself above league rules. He has been penalized for various infractions, so this is nothing new. In fact, it was the second time he had used the polygraph test on a player this year.

Fantasy Football Impact: None.
