Deposed Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison Monday, punishment for his role as the ringleader of a dogfighting outfit in Virginia.

Commentary: Vick might never play in the NFL again. Even if he gets out of prison in time for the 2009 season, he surely will face an additional suspension from the NFL. So by the time all of his penance is paid, he probably will have missed four seasons (2007-10). He never lived up to the great expectations placed upon him as the No. 1 pick in the 2001 draft, so there won't be much interest in him. But some rogue team (e.g., the Oakland Raiders) might take a flier on him.

Fantasy Football Impact: His absence from the league removed one of the most frustrating fantasy players around. Of course, it also made the Falcons' QB a shunned position in most leagues.
