As expected, New Orleans running back Reggie Bush will not play again this season, according to several reports. A second opinion conducted by Dr. James Andrews confirmed what Saints doctors had diagnosed: Bush has a partially torn posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Bush will not require surgery and should be healed in plenty of time for the team's offseason program in the spring.

Commentary: Bush needs to come back healthy in 2008 and put together the kind of season everyone expects him to have or he will have earned the dreaded label of "bust." In 28 NFL games, the former Heisman Trophy winner has averaged about 41 rushing yards per game and 3.7 yards per carry -- hardly numbers worthy of the No. 2 pick in the draft.

Fantasy Football Impact: With Bush and Deuce McAllister out, Aaron Stecker is now the No. 1 guy. He had a nice game against Atlanta on Monday, running for 100 yards on 20 carries, and could help out fantasy playoff teams having trouble at running back.
