Late in the New England Patriots' 2007 star trek, they've now added Mr. Spock .. er, Spach.

Tight end Stephen Spach (pronounced "Spock") joined the team Thursday when DE Mike Wright was shut down for the season with an injured foot.

Commentary: A 6-foot-4, 250-pound Fresno State product, Spach last played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2005, starting one game.

Fantasy Impact: None. But if Spach plays, Tom Brady will find some way to get the ball to him.
