Vikings starting safety Dwight Smith will play Monday night against the Bears despite being cited for misdemeanor marijuana possession Thursday when he was pulled over for a traffic violation. Coach Brad Childress did not comment on the case and will take no disciplinary action until it's solved.

Commentary: Childress promised to instill discipline and strict deference to authority when he took over a team embarrassed by off-field behavior. If the charges against Smith hold, Childress might have to suspend him.

Fantasy Football Impact: None.
