NFL fines five Falcons for supporting Vick on “MNF”

The NFL has fined five Atlanta Falcons for uniform violations based on their support for imprisoned former quarterback Michael Vick. The violations occurred in the Falcons' loss to New Orleans last Monday -- the same day Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison for running a dogfighting ring. Cornerback DeAngelo Hall and tight end Alge Crumpler wore the inscription "MV-7" on their eye-black patches, and receivers Joe Horn and Roddy White celebrated White's touchdown by pulling up his jersey to reveal a T-shirt that said, "Free Mike Vick." Hall, White, Crumpler and cornerback Chris Houston (transgression unknown) were fined $10,000 each, and Horn was docked $7,500.

Commentary: Everyone saw this coming the moment it happened. What's surprising is that Horn didn't pull out a phone and give Vick a call in prison. These guys should have left well enough alone. It really shows a lack of understanding of the seriousness of Vick's crime.
