Philadelphia linebacker Takeo Spikes will miss the Eagles' final two games with a torn rotator cuff that will require surgery. He was hurt in the fourth quarter of the Eagles' win over Dallas on Sunday, and the Eagles said they will put him on injured reserve. Rookies Stewart Bradley and Akeem Jordan will play in Spikes' spot. Coach Andy Reid said Spikes would have had surgery even if the Eagles still were in playoff contention.

Commentary: Spikes just can't seem to stay healthy. This is the third straight year the 31-year-old has missed game time due to injury. In 2005 with Buffalo, he was lost for the season in the third week with a torn Achilles. Then he missed four games with a hamstring injury last season, which led the Bills to trade him to the Eagles. He had a good first season in Philly, with 139 tackles, but once again could not finish it. Ten years of playing linebacker in the NFL will do that to a guy.

Fantasy Football Impact: None.
