It's scary how many NFL teams have had to resort to a "lesser of two evils" yardstick to decide who's going to play quarterback this week.

In the case of the New York Jets, it's probably going down to the wire. Kellen Clemens practiced Thursday, but he was said to have been "limited." Less limited, apparently, is the recovering Chad Pennington, who was 25 of 38 for 180 yards (no touchdowns, no picks) in relief last week against New England.

Commentary: Although Clemens has had his moments this season, it's hard to call a 59 quarterback rating a rousing success. The second-year man's arm strength has been questioned of late -- and, more to the point, he may have a cracked rib. Meanwhile, Pennington's rotator cuff surgery has left him like a major league pitcher forced to get by on guile rather than heat.

Fantasy Football Impact: Not exactly a palatable choice. Pennington did distinguish himself to some degree versus the Pats.
