The Washington Redskins' defensive backfield needs to be stout this Sunday against the run-oriented Minnesota Vikings. Now, at least, they have Omar Stoutmire.

On Thursday, Washington signed Stoutmire, a former Redskin and an 11-year veteran, to bolster a safety corps riddled with injuries.

Commentary: As always with someone who has been inactive over the course of a season, the question will be whether Stoutmire has kept himself in shape. In all probability, the Redskins wouldn't have signed him if he hadn't.

Fantasy Football Impact: With Pierson Prioleau, Vernon Fox and LaRon Landry all nursing injuries, the addition of Stoutmire adds a little depth, but probably won't make a major impact.
