After two years as the Buffalo Bills' general manager, Marv Levy has resigned. Levy, who coached the Bills to four Super Bowls in the early 1990s, declined an option to renew his expiring two-year contract and had informed owner Ralph Wilson of his decision last week.

Commentary: The Bills went 7-9 in both of Levy's seasons as GM and now have missed the playoffs for eight straight years -- the second longest drought in the NFL and the longest in team history. Levy seemed to make a good move in hiring Dick Jauron as coach in 2006; Jauron kept the team surprisingly competitive despite a rash of injuries this season (17 players on injured reserve). Levy's personnel moves were not always that wise; he overpaid several free agents and wasn't overly savvy in the draft either. His impact will be seen over the next couple of years: If the Bills remain an also-ran, Levy will be judged as a failure, but if the Bills make the playoffs, his short stint will have to be considered a success.

Fantasy Football Impact: None.
