Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and running back Shaun Alexander are expected to play Saturday in an NFC wild-card playoff game against Washington despite injuries suffered in the season finale in Atlanta.

Hasselbeck fell on his right (passing) wrist in the first half Sunday and was wearing a brace on it while he stood on the sideline in warmups in the second half. X-rays on the wrist were negative, and Hasselbeck said he planned to practice all week in preparation for Washington.

Alexander banged up some ribs on his first carry Sunday, but he continued playing and scored his 100th rushing TD before joining Hasselbeck on the sideline in the second half.

"No one got hurt today that will prevent them from playing (this) week," coach Mike Holmgren told reporters.

Commentary: So let's get this straight: The Seahawks planned to try to win the Atlanta game while also avoiding getting anyone hurt. And then they lost 44-41 and got two of their most important players hurt. They might as well have just forfeited the game without wasting everyone's time.

Fantasy Football Impact: None for next year. For fantasy playoff leagues, this news is of interest. But both Hasselbeck and Alexander will be there and will help the Seahawks beat Washington at Qwest Field.
