The Miami Dolphins have hired as their new general manager 37-year-old Jeff Ireland, who spent the past seven years in the front office of the Dallas Cowboys. Ireland reunites with Bill Parcells, who coached the Cowboys from 2003 to 2006 and last week was hired as the Dolphins' vice president of football operations. Ireland replaces Randy Mueller, whom Parcells fired Monday. Ireland, a former NFL scout, was the Cowboys' chief of scouting for the past three years.

Commentary: Still up in the air is the future of first-year Miami coach Cam Cameron, who helmed the Dolphins' worst season ever. Cameron met with Parcells on Tuesday, and one report indicated that Cameron was fired that night. Either way, Cameron's future will be resolved by the end of the week because Parcells reportedly is interested in interviewing Dallas assistant Tony Sparano for the Dolphins' coaching gig and must do so by the weekend or wait until the Cowboys are finished playing.

Fantasy Football Impact: None.
