With Bill Parcells and Jeff Ireland now in charge, the Miami Dolphins fired Cam Cameron after he led the team to a franchise-worst 1-15 record in his first season as coach.

The favorite to replace Cameron is Tony Sparano, assistant head coach for the Dallas Cowboys. Sparano will interview Friday for the coaching vacancy in Atlanta.

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the Dolphins also are interested in Maurice Carthon, Arizona's running-backs coach; Todd Haley, Arizona's offensive coordinator; Mike Tice, former Minnesota coach now the assistant head coach in Jacksonville; Rex Ryan, Baltimore's defensive coordinator; and Leslie Frazier, Minnesota's defensive coordinator.

"We're going to try to make a quick decision, but we don't have a timetable," Ireland told reporters. "We'll have a broad range of candidates. We'll look into every possibility."

Commentary: Miami, once one of the most stable franchises in the league, is now looking for its fifth coach in five seasons -- having gone from Dave Wannstedt and Jim Bates in 2004, to Nick Saban in 2005-06, to Cameron, to the next guy. Odds are Parcells will stabilize this position so the Dolphins can begin the long (OK, sometimes quick) climb back toward respectability.

Fantasy Football Impact: None yet.
