Joe Thomas, Cleveland's rookie left tackle, was named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster to replace Jason Peters, the Buffalo Bills' injured tackle. Thomas is the first Cleveland lineman to make the Pro Bowl since tackle Cody Risien in the 1987 season. Thomas also is the first rookie to reach the Pro Bowl for the Browns since linebacker Chip Banks made it after the 1982 season.

Thomas becomes the third Cleveland player in the Pro Bowl, joining Josh Cribbs and Braylon Edwards for the game in Honolulu on Feb. 10. The Browns have three other first alternates: quarterback Derek Anderson, guard Eric Steinbach and tight end Kellen Winslow.

Commentary: Thomas, the third overall draft pick last year, started and played every snap this season. He was a major reason the Browns put together one of the league's top offenses after muddling along for most of the previous eight years. Thomas finished second behind Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson for offensive rookie of the year.

Fantasy Football Impact: Without Thomas, Jamal Lewis and Anderson would not have turned into fantasy factors in 2007.
