Al Wilson, who sat out this season because of a neck injury, reportedly has been cleared to return to the NFL in 2008 by an independent back specialist. Wilson, who was Denver's starting middle linebacker until the Broncos released him last offseason, can sign with any team. The 30-year-old is a five-time Pro Bowl player.

Commentary: If Wilson could come back, it would be a great story. He was a stud with the Broncos and could help many teams if healthy.
