Antonio Gates, San Diego's Pro Bowl tight end, reportedly will not play against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend because of a dislocated toe suffered against Tennessee last weekend. Brandon Manumaleuna will replace him. Also, fullback Lorenzo Neal practiced for the first time since breaking his left leg on Dec. 9 -- also against the Titans. Neal remains a long shot to play.

Commentary: Losing Gates is a terrible blow to the Chargers' chances of beating the Colts. Gates is the No. 1 option in the Chargers' passing game; without him, the Chargers will have a tough time throwing the ball.

Fantasy Football Impact: This injury should not hurt Gates in 2008, but it certainly hurts anyone who had him in a fantasy playoff format.
