Another year, another Brett Favre watch.

On the eve of Saturday's NFC playoff game with Seattle, the Green Bay Packers' iconic quarterback was quoted by the Biloxi Sun Herald thusly, "For the first time in three years, I haven't thought this would be my last game."

And when Favre sneezes, Wisconsin gets a cold. Within a few hours, even the governor weighed in, proclaiming, "Like all Packer fans, I am thrilled that Brett Favre will return to action next year."

Commentary: This is not what Packers coach Mike McCarthy wants to hear now, when any distraction is looked upon as, well, a distraction.
