Mike Holmgren will return for a 10th and final season as coach of the Seattle Seahawks, he told reporters Tuesday. His decision ended weeks of speculation about whether 2007 was his final year in charge. Instead, 2008 will be.

"Kathy (his wife) and I came to this decision to finish my contract," said Holmgren, who reportedly will be paid at least $8 million in 2008. "This will be my last year. We are going to make it the best year ever. And then probably after that, I will take a little time off -- but not yet. We are going to go after it hard."

Commentary: To prove he is serious about getting back to the Super Bowl, Holmgren has fired offensive line coach Bill Laveroni and reassigned assistant line coach Keith Gilbertson to coach receivers. The running game is the Seahawks' main weakness, and Holmgren surely will pressure president Tim Ruskell to fix it for Holmgren's final run at the Super Bowl.

Fantasy Football Impact: This guarantees the offense will not change in 2008, which means Matt Hasselbeck remains a top-10 fantasy QB.
