The Cincinnati Bengals hired former Baltimore assistant Jeff FitzGerald to be their linebackers coach, replacing the fired Ricky Hunley. FitzGerald, the Ravens' LB coach for the past three years, joins the staff of new defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.

Commentary: Coach Marvin Lewis had to do something to fix a defense that has been one of the league's worst since he arrived. His reputation as a defensive wizard has suffered mightily, and he should be on the hot seat because his defense has held the team back.
