New Orleans defensive end Charles Grant was stabbed in the neck Saturday night during a barroom brawl in Atlanta that also included a pregnant woman being shot and killed. There was no indication what roll Grant played in the incident.

Commentary: It would be a shame if Grant was involved in provoking anything. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has worked hard to keep the league above the sort of thuggery that plagues the NBA. He would hate to have another incident, especially on Super Bowl weekend.
