Here's the latest installment of "SEC: Fastball."

The Florida-Georgia game this week could be bigger than you think: Every year in college football, everyone starts talking about how several teams could go undefeated; as a result, those teams dominate national championship game discussions. The next thing you know, a team with two losses like LSU last season ends up in the BCS title game.

People began writing the Gators out of the national title picture when they lost to Ole Miss a few weeks back. The same happened to the Bulldogs when they got spanked by Alabama. The bottom line is that Texas, Texas Tech, Alabama and even Penn State have some tough games left (remember that the Nittany Lions still have to take on Iowa and Michigan State). The early prediction? Only one of those teams will end up undefeated at the end of the regular season, and that may open up a spot for the club that wins the Florida-Georgia game this week.

Speaking of Florida, how does 63-5 sound?: The Kentucky Wildcats are not an SEC title contender. That said, they are 5-3, so getting blown out by 58 points means something.

It means that the Gators are the one team that nobody wants to play right now.

Speaking of Georgia, how does 52 points on LSU sound?: The Tigers are nowhere near as good as they were last season. But they certainly aren’t bad and still have a tough defense. So, when you consider the fact that Georgia put up a whopping 52 points on them -- reminding us all more of the Big XII than the SEC -- one thought comes to mind: What’s the over/under on the Florida-Georgia game going to be? Maybe 90 points?

Alabama keeps doing it with solid line play and defense: The other undefeated teams are more eye-catching, but the Tide is winning in the trenches and defensively. Speaking of the Tide and its 29-9 victory over Tennessee, Philip Fulmer’s job status is getting more tenuous by the minute.

Fire Tommy Tuberville domains are getting bought up: The Auburn Tigers just can’t get it together, as evidenced by their second-half collapse en-route to a 34-17 loss to the West Virginia Mountaineers. Though the masses shouldn’t be calling for Tuberville’s job, the cries are already beginning.
