Byrnes (South Carolina) High School safety Justin Bright announced his solid verbal commitment to Florida State on Tuesday. He is the Seminoles' 10th commitment for the 2009 recruiting class.

"He's definitely a character guy. He's about working hard and making the team better," Byrnes coach Chris Miller said. "He's a real smart guy — the quarterback of our secondary."

According to Rivals, the 6-foot-1, 173-pounder chose Tallahassee over Georgia, North Carolina, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Clemson.

COMMENTARY: Bright joins another stellar Bobby Bowden recruiting class, but he will have competition at some point: He is the third safety to commit for 2009. Also, it appears FSU is making headway at Byrnes High School, as Bright follows former teammate Everett Dawkins (2008 class) to Tallahassee.
