Center Grove High School’s (Indiana) Jordan Luallen has committed to Georgia Tech. The dual-threat quarterback is the sixth to give his verbal to Paul Johnson’s Yellow Jackets for the 2009 recruiting year.

"I know my stats aren't that impressive to a lot of people, but we run a wing-T offense and I think I did pretty well,” Luallen said. “I'd say my biggest strength is my rushing ability. I'm a good double threat and make the defense worry. I'm also very accurate and make smart plays.”

Last season Luallen had a completion rate of 60 percent and threw for 756 yards and 12 passing touchdowns. He also rushed for 475 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns.

Georgia Tech beat out Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisville, Maryland, Purdue, Stanford and Cincinnati for the get.

COMMENTARY: This is the first quarterback commitment under Johnson, and it’s clear Luallen will be a good fit with the coach’s triple-option plans for the Jackets.
