The Star-Ledger is reporting Monday that free-agent DE Renaldo Wynn has signed a one-year deal with the Giants.

Wynn, who turns 34 at the start of the regular season, played 12 games with the Saints last season and notched 3.5 sacks. He played the first four years of his career in Jacksonville before signing a free-agent deal with Washington in 2001.

Commentary: The move suggests the Giants are preparing themselves for the possible retirement of DE Michael Strahan, but signing veteran pass rushers to one-year deals isn't a move for the long-term stability of the position. Strahan hasn't come to a decision whether he will play this season, but Wynn bolsters depth at the position either way.

Fantasy Impact: The Giants have one of the best pass-rushing defenses in the league, and the experience and depth Wynn provides will only help them remain near the top.
