Pro Football Reference released its All-Franchise teams of the NFC East, and Giants outside linebacker Lawrence Taylor is by far the best to have set foot in the division.

According to PFR's Approximate Value Method, Taylor scored a 139, easily beating ex-Dallas running back Emmitt Smith, who finished second with 126.

Smith highlighted a Cowboys offense that had Michael Irvin (105), Tony Dorsett (102) and Roger Staubach (101) on the list. Dorsett and Smith together made the highest ranking for a running back combination on all the AV All-Franchise teams.

Dallas defensive tackle Randy White scored a 121, as did Giants defensive end Michael Strahan. Offensive tackle Joe Jacoby scored an 83, the highest of the famed Redskins "Hogs." It had one Skins fan crying foul.

"As a Redskins fan I feel like this conspires against the Hogs. Jacoby’s rating seems fair enough, but I would have thought that Grimm (and the absent Bostic) would do better. Having all those great OLs playing together certainly helped the Skins to their 3 SBs under 3 different QBs, but it probably worked against any of them getting the individual acclaim they deserve."

Current starting quarterback Donovan McNabb (87) beat out Randall Cunningham (86), but an Eagles poster took exception to one omission.

"Where is (Chuck) Bednarik on the Eagles list? He’s generally considered the greatest Eagle ever, and he should probably be on this list at center AND inside linebacker."
