EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - The Giants acquired Kareem McKenzie away from the New York Jets, signing the right tackle to a 7 year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed, but McKenzie reportedly received $37 million - including a signing bonus of more than $12 million. "Kareem is a powerful and durable player and will improve an important position for us," Giants general manager Ernie Accorsi said. "And, he adds to an offensive line that is young and signed."

A New Jersey native, McKenzie spent his entire 4 year career with the Jets and started the last 48 games at RT. The addition of the 6' 6", 327 lbs. McKenzie will allow the Giants to move tackle David Diehl to his normal guard position.
