The New York Giants released starting defensive end Keith Washington. The 32 year-old Washington missed the second half of the season after suffering a major knee injury against the Bears on November 7. The Giants lost star DE Michael Strahan for the season the same game with a torn pectoral muscle.

Washington had 17 tackles, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble in 2004. He was signed as free agent during 2003 and played in 14 games. Washington finished the season with 24 tackles, 1 sack and 2 fumble recoveries.

The 10 year veteran has played in 118 career games. Along the way, he has recorded 169 tackles (131 solo), 10 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, 4 opponent's fumble recoveries, and an amazing 3 kickoffs returned 43 yards.

Washington broke into the league in 1995 with the Minnesota Vikings. He also played for the Detroit Lions (1996), the Baltimore Ravens (1997-2000), and the Denver Broncos (2001-2002).
