Giants sign Plaxico Burress

The New York Giants signed free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress to a 6 year contract worth $25 million. The agreement reputedly includes a 2 tiered signing bonus that may be worth as much as $8.25 million.

Negotiations between the 2 parties improved after the WR fired his original agent and hired Drew Rosenhaus as his representative.

The 6'5", 226 lbs. Burress recorded 35 catches for 698 yards (19.9 ypc) and 5 touchdowns for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2004. In his 5 years with the Steelers, the former Mighigan State Spartan caught 261 passes for 4,164 yards (16.0 ypc) with 22 TDs.
