Two former Iowa defensive backs have been accused of sexually assaulting a woman on campus last year. Police have issued warrants for their arrests.

Commentary: On Tuesday, school officials said that Cedric Everson III and Abeberell "Abe" Satterfield are accused of sexual abuse in the second degree. Additionally, Satterfield is also accused of sexual abuse in the third degree. The incident took place Oct. 14, 2007, according to a news release.

Everson appeared in five games last season for the Hawkeyes, while Satterfield didn't see any action. Both players left the program soon after the incident, according to Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz.

"This situation has always been serious and significant. I am concerned for everyone involved," Ferentz said. "Because this is still a legal matter and the information is sensitive, I cannot discuss the specifics of those conversations at this time."
