Jaguars give extension to DT McDaniel

The Jaguars signed third-year DT Tony McDaniel to a contract extension Wednesday, the team announced.

McDaniel, an undrafted free agent in 2006 from Tennessee, has 25 tackles in 15 career games, including one sack. Terms of the deal were not announced. McDaniel missed the team's last 12 games with a wrist injury in 2007.

Commentary: The Jaguars are working hard to fill the void of departed DT Marcus Stroud. They signed DL Rob Meier to an extension last week.
