Jacksonville Jaguars starting strong safety Donovin Darius is out for the season after tearing his ACL in Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Deke Cooper stepped in for Darius on Sunday and is expected to take his place in the starting lineup.

Darius was injured during a punt return in the second quarter. He seemed to know that he had torn his ACL right after sustaining the injury. An MRI confirmed has confirmed his fears.

This injury is a big loss for a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that is considered to be one of the top units in the league. Donovin Darius has been a key cog in their defensive backfield for nearly a decade. This was his 8th NFL season with the Jaguars and he was coming off an impressive 04' campaign in which he intercepted five passes, forced two fumbles and recorded 89 tackles.
