Jaguars extend Marcus Stroud’s contract

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Marcus Stroud to a 5 year, $31.5 million contract extension. The Pro Bowl defensive tackle is now one of the highest paid interior linemen in the NFL.

The 6'6", 312 lbs. Stroud started all 16 games in 2004, registering 54 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 3 passes deflected, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery.

A first round choice for the Jaguars in 2001 out of the University of Georgia, Stroud has played in 64 games in his 4 year career. He has totalled 189 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 15 passes defended, 5 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries.
