The legend has left Wisconsin.

On Wednesday night, the Green Bay Packers traded quarterback Brett Favre to the New York Jets for a conditional fourth-round pick in next year's draft. Depending on the Jets’ success in 2008, the selection could become a first-, second- or third-rounder.

Commentary: The Jets clearly haven't been afraid to spend money since last season ended, throwing a combined $99 million at longtime Steelers offensive guard Alan Faneca, ex-Patriots and Lions O-lineman Damien Woody and former Cardinals defensive end Calvin Pace. Prior to adding Favre, the Jets were already the big spenders of 2008. So how will his contract fit in?

Well, it will likely lead to the release of veteran quarterback Chad Pennington, getting his contract off the books. That, along with a restructuring of Favre’s contract, might get New York under the cap.

Fantasy Football Impact: Favre, judging by his 2007 performance, is clearly still a capable quarterback; with that said, don't expect him to be the same 28-touchdown guy he was last year. It's likely that not having a stacked offense around him will hinder Favre, whose new weapons aren't as solid as Green Bay's.

Training Camp: An entirely new kind of fantasy game!
