Remember when New York Jets wide receiver Laveranues Coles was griping about the dismissal of his boy, Chad Pennington? How quickly things change. After all, the Jets and Coles are all smiles heading into a bye week. Pennington's successor, Brett Favre, helped the Jets even their record to 2-2 during Week 4, connecting with Coles eight times for 105 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-35 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Coles is now tied for the team high in catches (18) and leads in receiving yardage (257).

Commentary: After the Jets acquired Favre and released Pennington in August, Coles publicly complained about a potential lack of chemistry with the future Hall of Fame signal-caller. It didn't take long to fix that, though, did it?

New York's schedule will now lighten up with games against Cincinnati, Oakland and Kansas City; thus, the love between Favre and Coles should continue growing.

Fan Pulse: Jets fans think Coles can break his career high of seven touchdowns in an individual season (he already has four this year): http://www.jetsinsider.net/forums/showthread.php?t=179392.

Fantasy Football Commentary:
If you were smart enough to grab Coles or Jerricho Cotchery in the middle or late rounds of your draft, way to go. If not, then now is the time to trade for them. It may be hard to get Coles after a three-touchdown game, but it's possible.

Injury Watch: It's not an injury, but it could be just as important as one. Earlier this week, strong safety Eric Smith received a one-game suspension for his Week 4 helmet-to-helmet hit on Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin. Smith will serve his suspension against the Bengals.
