Most of the credit given to the Jets has been handed to quarterback Brett Favre. After this week there should be plenty of love to go around, though, as the Jets' defense faces arguably the worst team in the league, the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati sits at the bottom of the AFC North standings with an 0-5 record. The Jets also sit at the bottom of the AFC East, but they are 2-2. With an expected victory against Cincy, the Jets would be 3-2 and very much in the playoff picture.

Commentary: Cincinnati is last in the NFL in total offense, averaging 239.2 yards a game; that should not be happening with Carson Palmer, Chad Ocho Cinco and T.J. Houshmandzadeh all on the the same offense. With Palmer questionable it seems very likely that the Jets' defense will be swarming around the ball. Stopping the run definitely won't be difficult; after all, the Jets already give up only 75.5 yards a game, and let's not forget that Cincinnati has virtually no running attack to speak of.

Fan Pulse: There are a few Jets enthusiasts who believe Sunday's showdown with Cincy could be a trap game. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=36669.

Fantasy Football Commentary: The Jets' defense has averaged 7.2 points per game in standard formats, but don't be deceived: Almost all of those points came versus the Cardinals in Week 4. The Jets represent a solid backup defense, especially if you're like me and have the Steeler 'D' on a bye.

Injury Watch: WR Laveranues Coles was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
