Lost in the past week of the latest Brett Favre scandal is the fact that the 3-3 New York Jets are fighting for their playoff lives. Wednesday, Favre spent the majority of his 18-minute meeting with the media denying that he gave the secrets of his ex-team, the Green Bay Packers, to the Detroit Lions prior to Week 2. The funny thing is that Favre intended to talk about New York's Week 8 opponent, the one-win Kansas City Chiefs. The Jets, who laid an egg in Oakland last week, can't afford to take their focus off the Chiefs.

Commentary: The Jets aren't getting the returns they expected from Favre, so the last thing they need is for him to become a distraction. That's one of the reasons Green Bay was willing to part ways with him in the first place.

Still, because nothing solves turmoil like compiling victories, the media will likely turn their head if Favre puts in a great performance this week.

Fan Pulse:
There are a lot of opinions about Favre's talk with ex-Lions general manager Matt Millen; many that say he should focus on the Jets' playbook and not Green Bay's: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=37113&page=2.

Fantasy Football Commentary:
Start RB Thomas Jones against the Chiefs.

Injury Watch:
Wide receivers Laveranues Coles (concussion) and Jerrico Cotchery (shoulder) are questionable against Kansas City.
